In Gopalganj, a 10th class student was allegedly gang-raped in an abandoned brick field bush. The mother of the student filed a case with the Gopalganj Sadar Police Station on Sunday (April 3). Earlier, the incident took place in Sahapur Union of Sadar Upazila on March 29.

The accused in the case are Sagar Ball son of Ravi Ball of the same area, Vikram Gain son of Bimal Gain, Nayan Mistry son of Haradhan Mistry, Subhankar Ball (Natu) son of Subodh Ball, Sagar Biswas son of Subash Biswas and Dhiman Biswas son of Rup Chand Biswas.

According to the case and family sources, the student was walking from home to the market for shopping. When he reached the abandoned brick field, a group of young men who had been waiting for him forcibly took him into the bushes of the brick field. There, three young men gang-raped her. The other three youths recorded videos of collaboration and rape. They threatened to spread the video on social media if they told anyone about the incident.

The matter has been confirmed by HM Jasim Uddin, in-charge of Boultali outpost of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station. He said the truth of the incident has been found. Dhiman Biswas, an accomplice of the rape, has been arrested. The operation to arrest the rest is continuing.
