Awami League wants to go to the elections as per the constitution, keeping the constitution intact. The BNP government has repeatedly defamed the constitution. Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that Awami League will protect the dignity of the constitution and hold the next elections in that light.
He said, the poison tree of communal power, which is blocking the path of building the dream of Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla, will be uprooted.
The Awami League General Secretary said these words after paying tribute to the 103rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum premises in Dhanmondi on Friday morning.
Earlier, Awami League paid tribute to Bangabandhu’s portrait with flowers. Tributes were paid under the leadership of party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At 7:12 in the morning, the Prime Minister paid his respects in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, Dhanmondi 32. Before this, he first paid tribute to Bangabandhu’s portrait as the Prime Minister. Senior and central leaders of Awami League were present on the occasion.
