BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the Awami League is now an internationally recognized autocratic party. Various newspapers, research centers and different countries have identified the Awami League as an authoritarian party and government.

Tuesday, April 26 2022. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this while exchanging views with journalists at his ancestral residence in Thakurgaon this morning.

He said the United States has imposed sanctions on certain individuals in Bangladesh. This is evidenced by the fact that the human rights report of the United States of America has raised issues of every institution in Bangladesh, especially human rights violations, which have been proven in the international world.

He further said that the people of the country themselves are realizing that they are going through a completely fascist regime. So there is no need to call new ambassadors. We never call ambassadors. They used to do it, still do it, they come to the office regularly and talk about different things.

Mirza Alamgir said, “Sad but true Awami League unelected government, has become completely dependent on bureaucrats, law enforcement, they have become completely isolated from the people. Basically, it has become completely dependent on the military-civilian bureaucracy. It sounds ridiculous to us when they talk about democracy. ‘
