Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed left Dhaka on Monday on an official visit at the invitation of the US Army.
During the visit, the Army Chief will meet with senior military officials, including the US Army Chief of Staff and Chief of the National Guard, and senior civilian officials at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., from April 20 to 22, according to ISPR.
During the visit, Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a graduate of the Near East South Asia (NESA) Center at the National Defense University in the United States. He will attend a roundtable discussion on the regional security situation in South Asia.
On April 25 and 26, the Army Chief will be accompanied by the Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), the Department of Operational Support (UNDOS) and the Department of Political and Peace (UNPED) along with the Military Adviser and Police Adviser at the UN Headquarters. After the visit, he will return to the country on April 26.
