The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of Saudi Arabia has set the minimum age for Hajj for those travelers who want to go to Saudi Arabia for Hajj in 2023.
According to the ministry’s statement last Monday, the passenger must be at least 12 years old to get a Hajj visa in 2023. Any passenger under 12 years of age or anyone applying for a Hajj visa on behalf of a passenger will not be accepted.
The statement also said that the government has decided to increase the importance of registering those who plan to perform Hajj this year; Especially for those who have decided to perform Hajj for the first time, they must register to get a visa.
The Saudi government has also launched an app called ‘Absher’ for this registration. This year the Hajj season will start from the end of June. Pilgrims have to register their names in this app at least 2 months before this.
Besides Saudi citizens and residents, millions of people from around the world visit the country to perform Hajj every year. However, foreign pilgrims could not go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj due to border restrictions in place for 2 years due to the corona epidemic.
Now, of course, that is no longer the case. In the statement of the Hajj and Umrah Ministry on Tuesday, it is said that from now on, foreign travelers will not have to face any restrictions.
