He said that the government of Bangladesh which has been occupying power completely illegally has taken away the rights of all people including the working class. You cannot assemble if you wish, you cannot unite if you wish. Today workers are being deprived of their just demands.
Let us strengthen our organization, organize all the working class of the country. Workers have always brought change in the country. The workers have led all the glorious movements in our past. You don’t have to just sit here and chant slogans. You have to shout slogans in the streets and organize the people, fight against this horrible fascist Awami government, defeat them and hand over power to a neutral government.
The BNP general secretary chanted slogans such as ‘Be one of the workers of the world’, ‘Let dictatorship be destroyed’, ‘Workers should be given fair wages’ and ‘Rice, pulses and oil prices should be reduced’. Inshallah we will succeed. ”
The BNP secretary general said this at a rally organized by the Nationalist Workers Party on the occasion of International Workers’ Day on Sunday morning, May 1, 2022.
The May Day rally was held in front of the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan. Later, the leaders and workers of the workers’ party marched and reached the National Press Club through Kakrail, Vijayanagar and Paltan junctions. Apart from Mirza Fakhrul, leaders of the Labor Party including BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also took part in it.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam said that the price of goods has skyrocketed. The price of rice has gone up by 10 times, the price of oil has gone up, the price of salt has gone up. You know better than I do what our working brothers are in trouble. That trouble does not reach the ears of the government. They cannot give rice-pulses-oil to the workers at fair price.
They build hospitals for the rich but no hospitals for the poor. Workers do not get free treatment, their children do not get education. The working class of this country is deprived of everything. Today the government talks about big mega projects, big mega development but at the same time they have not done anything for the workers.
The BNP secretary general said, “We have more than 35 leaders and workers, including many of our workers.” False charges have been filed against them, more than 800 leaders and activists have been abducted, and thousands have been killed. They were shot while being held without trial. In this situation, they could not be allowed to continue.
Good thing doing mega development. I will not eat and you will not be home in Begum Para or Dubai or Malaysia. We fought in the war of 1971. We wanted a non-discriminatory state, the equality of the income of a human being, the guarantee of the minimum that is needed to survive. Unfortunately, even today, 50 years later, we have to say with deep regret that those rights have not been realized.
This government has been completely rejected by the people. The people have nothing to do with the government. The working class has nothing to do with it. Today all rights have been taken away. This government has become completely dependent. They see no interest other than their own. They are going to turn this state into a failed state.
The BNP general secretary strongly criticized the Bangladesh government for seeking India’s cooperation in lifting the sanctions against RAB and its six officials for human rights violations.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, special assistant to the chairperson Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, co-organizing secretary Abdus Salam Azad, labor affairs co-editors Humayun Kabir Khan and Firoz were present at the meeting. -Jaman Mamun Mollah and other leaders of the Labor Party spoke.
Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi distributed Eid gifts and financial assistance among the family members of the leaders and activists of the party who were abducted, murdered and tortured at two separate events organized by the Liberation War Generation Party and South Korea BNP at the Naya
