Iftar mahfil was organized in honor of the Bangladeshi community on the initiative of ‘Spain-Bangla Press Club’, an organization representing Bengali media in Spain.

A large number of expatriates from all walks of life of the Bangladeshi community were present at the mahfil organized on Friday (April 22) at the Desh Restaurant in the famous Lavapies area of ​​Bangalipara in the capital Madrid. Iftar mahfil turned into a gathering of expatriates in the presence of different classes of professions.

President of Spain-Bangla Press Club Shahadul Suhed presided over the function while Bangladesh Ambassador to Spain, Andorra and Equatorial Guinea Mohammad Sarwar Mahmud was the chief guest.

ATM Abdur Rauf Mandal, Head of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Spain was the special guest at the function conducted by Kabir Al Mahmood, General Secretary of Europe Bangladesh Press Club and member of Spain-Bangla Press Club. Speaking as the chief guest, Ambassador Mohammad Sarwar Mahmud said that the way the members of Spain Bangla Press Club are working in the service of the community is commendable. Referring to the role of expatriates in the development journey of Bangladesh, he said that in order to build a prosperous Bangladesh, everyone should cooperate from their respective positions.

He lauded the indomitable courage and morale of the people of Bangladesh in tackling the cowardly situation in Bangladesh. Mentioning that the journalists are cooperating to maintain good relations between the embassy and the expatriate Bangladeshi community, the ambassador added that the journalists have to play their due role in uniting the community.
