Expats have to suffer from the ghats for renewing their passports and sending their bodies if someone dies there. When the passport expires, it takes 5 to 6 months to get the passport if you apply for renewal at the embassy.
Moreover, if the expatriate dies, the embassy does not get financial support to send his body back to the country. Then the expatriates had to beg money and send the body back to the country.
A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of International Workers’ Day on the initiative of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Malaysia Branch in 1 Hotel Kuala Lumpur of the capital on Monday, May Day. The leaders of the organization raised these complaints in the discussion meeting. Maulana Tawhidul Islam recited the Quran under the chairmanship of party president Mufti Amirul Islam and secretary Gazi Abu Horaira.
As the chief guest in the video conference, Secretary General Hafez Maulana of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Principal Yunus Ahmed Sahib was present. Mufti Kefaytullah Kashfi Saheb, Central Expatriate Welfare Secretary, was the special guest.
The chief guest said in his speech that the workers are deprived of their rightful rights, the special driving force of the country’s economy, expatriates are being harassed in various ways. He also said that the workers are constantly being exploited because of the lack of establishment of Islamic labor policy. As a result, there is no alternative to establish Islamic labor policy.
In his speech, the president strongly demanded the government to take the bodies of the expatriates to the country at the national expense as soon as possible. And the family of the deceased should be given lifetime allowance.
