Prothom Alo journalist Shamsuzzaman has been sent from Dhaka Central Jail to Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur in connection with the Digital Security Act case. The court rejected the bail application and ordered Shamsuzzaman to be sent to jail yesterday in the case filed at Ramna police station. A day later he was taken to Kashimpur from the Central Jail.

Investigating officer and inspector of Ramna Model Police Station Abu Anshar requested to keep Shamsuzzaman in jail in the case on Thursday. It is said in the application that if the accused Shamsuzzaman is released on bail, the investigation may be disturbed.

On the other hand, Shamsuzzaman’s lawyer Prashant Kumar Karmkar applied for bail. The court rejected the bail application of the journalist after hearing the arguments of both sides and ordered him to be sent to jail.
