In April, remittances reached কোটি 200 million

The expatriates have sent remittances of 200 crore 95 lakh dollars or 16 thousand 362 crore 12 lakh taka (8 taka 45 paisa per dollar) in the month of April, centering on Ramadan and Eid. Which is the highest expatriate income in the last 11 months. This information came up in the report of Bangladesh Bank on Thursday (May 5).

According to the central bank, remittances in April were ১৫ 150 million more than in March last year. In other words, the amount of remittances sent by expatriates in March was 175 crore 96 lakh dollars.

According to the report, as of April 26, remittances from five state-owned commercial banks reached কোটি 354.9 million, private banks ৬ 181.27 million, foreign banks ৭ 83.50 million and specialized banks কোটি 35.4 million.

Last month, the highest remittance of কোটি 429.4 million came through Islami Bank. Besides, Dutch-Bangla Bank is in the second position. Through this, the expatriates have sent 26 crore 26 lakh dollars remittance. After that, remittances of কোটি 12.57 crore came to Agrani Bank, কোটি 10.8 crore to Sonali Bank and কোটি 94.1 million through Bank Asia.

However, the expatriates did not send any remittance through BDBL, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Police Community Bank, Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and State Bank of India.

Incidentally, in the last 11 months, no remittance of more than কোটি 200 million has come in any month. In May 2021, remittances came to 216 crore 10 million dollars. However, in April last year, remittances of about 206.06 million dollars came almost equal to this
