According to the central bank, remittances in April were ১৫ 150 million more than in March last year. In other words, the amount of remittances sent by expatriates in March was 175 crore 96 lakh dollars.
According to the report, as of April 26, remittances from five state-owned commercial banks reached কোটি 354.9 million, private banks ৬ 181.27 million, foreign banks ৭ 83.50 million and specialized banks কোটি 35.4 million.
Last month, the highest remittance of কোটি 429.4 million came through Islami Bank. Besides, Dutch-Bangla Bank is in the second position. Through this, the expatriates have sent 26 crore 26 lakh dollars remittance. After that, remittances of কোটি 12.57 crore came to Agrani Bank, কোটি 10.8 crore to Sonali Bank and কোটি 94.1 million through Bank Asia.
However, the expatriates did not send any remittance through BDBL, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Police Community Bank, Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and State Bank of India.
