The Iftar and Doa Mahfil of the local Shah Jalal Jame Mosque was held on Sunday at the initiative of the Palermo branch of the Italian Awami League.

Speaking before the iftar, Palermo branch Awami League president Sekandar Mia, senior vice president Zahid Ahmed Rubel and general secretary Golam Rabbani spoke.

In Iftar mahfil, prayers are offered for the welfare of the country and the nation. Khatib Hossain Ahmed of the mosque offered special prayers for the souls of those who have sacrificed their lives in the democratic movement of the country including Bangabandhu’s family.

Haji Mohammad Rafique, Founder Convener of Palermo Awami League, Advisor Mujibul Haque Bhuiyan, Borhan Uddin, Sohail Ahmed, Faisal Ahmed, Nasim Alam Arman, President of Juba League MA Halim, General Secretary Emdad Rahman Saiful, Mazharul Haque Raju, Sohel Rana Chowdhury were present. Prominent people of the community including Aminur Rahman Atiq, Koyes Ali, Ashraful Akand, Alal Mia, Fuzail Ahmed.

Besides, devout Muslims from all walks of life were present at the Iftar gathering.
