Kurigram Correspondent: A young man named Farid Mia (29) committed suicide by drinking poison and (pesticide) in Bhurungamari of Kurigram. The deceased was identified as Ashraf Ali, son of Ashraf Ali of East Bagbhandar village under Sadar union of the upazila. She has three children aged 6 years, 5 years and one and a half years.

According to locals and family sources, Farid Miah’s wife Babita Begum used to quarrel with him on various issues. After a quarrel with his wife two days before the last Eid, Farid left home for Dhaka with pride. Last Monday afternoon he came home from Dhaka. In the afternoon, he started arguing with his wife again about buying and cutting. At one stage, around 9.30 pm, the rat closed the door and drank two pills and a bottle of pesticide. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Bhurungamari Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated there, the doctor on duty sent him to Kurigram Sadar Hospital. When the condition deteriorated there too, he was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Farid Mia died while undergoing treatment at around 4.30 am on Tuesday (May 10).
