Those who clashed after wearing helmets during the recent clashes in Dhaka College and New Market areas in the capital must be brought under the law, said Mahbub Alam, Joint-Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (South) Police.
Mahbub Alam made the remarks in a press conference at DMP’s media center on Wednesday afternoon.
Mahbub Alam said, ‘All those who clashed after wearing helmets during the clash between Dhaka College and New Market are terrorists. They must be brought under the law. Several teams of DB (Intelligence Department) are conducting operations to arrest these terrorists.
Asked if there were any BCL members among the DBs who were wearing helmets during the clash, Mahbub Alam said, “There is no BCL committee there.”
Mahbub Alam said, ‘Two youths were not killed in the clash in New Market. Two cases are under investigation by the detective police. One is the murder of Nahid and the other is the case of Morsalin’s murder.
Mahbub Alam further said, “The footage of Nahid’s murder is being analyzed and the culprits are being identified. The work of identification has come a long way. Many have gone home or are in hiding due to the closure of Dhaka College hostel. However, multiple DB teams are trying to arrest them. Good results will be announced soon.
