Gold price has been increased in Bangladesh market due to increase in price in local bullion market. The price of the best quality gold has increased by Tk 1,650. The price of good quality gold has been 7 thousand 649 rupees. The new gold price will be effective from Tuesday.

This information was given in a circular signed by MA Hannan, Chairman, Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS).

According to Bajus, the standing committee on Bajus pricing and price monitoring met on Monday (April 11th) and decided to raise the price. According to the standard, the price of gold has been increased from Tk 1,224 to Tk 1,650 per ounce. However, there was no change in the price of silver.

Gold prices rose in the local bullion market, the statement said. Therefore, considering the overall situation, the Bangladesh Jewelery Association has set a new price for gold, which will be effective from April 12.

According to the new price, the price of gold of the best quality or 22 carats per gram (11.64 grams) has been increased by Tk 1,650 to Tk 7,849.

The price of 21 carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,849 to Tk 85,349. The price of 18 carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,456 to Tk 64,580. And the price of gold per traditional method has been increased by Tk 1,224 to Tk 53,629.

Although the price of gold has increased, the price of silver has remained the same. The price of 22 carat heavy silver has been fixed at one thousand 518 rupees. The price of 21 carat silver has been fixed at Tk 1,435, 18 carat silver at Tk 1,225 and traditional method of silver at Tk 933.

Earlier, gold prices were reduced in two phases in March. On March 22, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.64 grams) was reduced by Tk 1,050 to Tk 7,099.

Besides, the price of 21 carat gold was reduced by Tk 1,050 to Tk 83,600, the price of 18 carat gold was reduced by Tk 933 to Tk 83,102 and the price of traditional gold was reduced by Tk 458 to Tk 52,605.

Earlier, on March 18, the price of the best quality or 22 carat weight (11.64 grams) of gold was reduced by Tk 1,018 to Tk 8,149.

Besides, the price of 21 carat gold was reduced by Tk 1,049 to Tk 64,650, the price of 18 carat gold was reduced by Tk 933 to Tk 74,035 and the price of traditional gold was reduced by Tk 699 to Tk 53,073.

However, before reducing the price by two points, the price of gold was increased by three points in the country’s market this year. On March 9, the price of good quality or 22 carat bhari (11.64 grams) gold was increased by Tk 1,050 to Tk 69,315,000.

The price of 21 carat gold was increased by Tk 933 to Tk 85,899. The price of 18 carat gold was increased by Tk 618 to Tk 84,096. And the price of heavy gold per traditional method was increased by Tk 742 to Tk 54,062.
