Former BCL leader arrested for trying to rape teenage footballer
Police have arrested Ahidul Alam Fakir Faisal, former general secretary of Upazila Chhatra League, in a case of attempted rape of a teenage footballer at Nandail in Mymensingh. He was arrested from Chaidana Hajirpukur area of Gachha police station in Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandail Police Station Mizanur Rahman Akand confirmed the arrest of BCL leader Faisal.
According to the police, Faisal had been harassing the teenage footballer for a long time. Last Friday (April 22) at 11 am, Faisal called her to Shaheed Smriti College and tried to rape her. The indictment also states that the girl was threatened with death if she told anyone about this.
Last Monday, the girl herself filed a case with Nandail police station. The victim teenage footballer is said to be a member of the under-16 divisional team. Faisal’s house is in Panchpara mahalla of Nandail municipality.
