Five world leaders, including US President Joseph R. Biden Jr. today, President Md. Congratulated Sahabuddin on his historic assumption of office as the President of the Republic of Bangladesh.
After taking oath of office as the 22nd president on April 24. World leaders continue to greet Sahabuddin after his arrival in office.
US President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was congratulated by Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, Kazakhstan President Kassim-Jomart Tokayev, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Swiss President Alain Berset in separate messages.
Separate messages containing greetings from five world leaders, including heads of state and government, arrived here today.
Wishing the people of Bangladesh peace and prosperity, the leaders emphasized on strengthening relations with Bangladesh.
US President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (Joe Biden) congratulated Sahabuddin, saying the long-standing partnership between Bangladesh and the United States has helped build a more peaceful and prosperous future for all of us.
He added, ‘Together, we have expanded economic growth and development between our two countries. Together, we continue to fight corruption and tackle global challenges such as climate change and the Rohingya refugee crisis. And thus we are creating a better world for future generations.’
Biden said the United States stands ready to deepen the partnership between the two countries and work together to stand up for our shared values, including strengthening democracy, advancing human rights and protecting democratic principles.
Biden is eager to work with Bangladesh to continue building a more free, prosperous and secure future for all Bangladeshis and Americans.
The President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinisto, said in his congratulatory message, “I am interested in continuing the long-standing cooperation and good relations between our two countries in the bilateral and multilateral arenas.”
President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev has extended his hearty congratulations to the Bangladeshi President on assuming the highest office in Bangladesh.
He hopes that his (Sahabuddin) visionary leadership and rich experience will lead Bangladesh to a new height and prosperity and the partnership that exists in addition to the traditional friendship will be strengthened for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Congratulating Sahabuddin, he sought the cooperation of Bangladesh to successfully increase Belarus-Bangladesh cooperation in potential fields.
He said that Belarus is interested in strengthening mutual relations in the fields of industrial cooperation, mechanical engineering, electric transport, agriculture, pharmacy, science and education.
In a congratulatory message this evening, Swiss Confederation President Alain Berset said that Switzerland has been and will continue to be a steadfast partner in Bangladesh’s efforts to build a prosperous future.
He hoped, ‘I am confident that the bilateral relationship between our two countries will deepen and help us to face global challenges.’
