Almighty Allah has bestowed upon the Ummah of Muhammad some blessed special months, days and nights, whose importance, greatness and virtues are immense. Willingly or unwillingly, by the evil counsel of the devil or by the temptation of the soul, man goes astray or indulges in wickedness. Allah Ta’ala has provided repentance and forgiveness for people’s sins. Some special days and holidays are given, one of the most famous of them is Shabbat.

The 14th day of the month of Shaban is ‘Shabbarat’. As such, the holy ‘Lailatul Baraat’ or Shabbat Baraat will be celebrated tomorrow on March 7 in Oman and Bangladesh. This night is a very important and special significance night for Muslims. On this night, Almighty Allah opened the door of His mercy.

On this glorious night, devout Muslims sincerely repent to Allah for all their past mistakes and sins. In the Indian subcontinent especially in Bangladesh, Shabbat is also called as ‘Bhagyrajani’.

Muslims spend a quiet night in Shabbarat with Nafal Namaz, Zikir-Azkar, recitation of the Holy Quran and humbly pray to Allah Almighty to avoid sins and impurity in the future life and lead a pure life. At the same time, he visited the graves of his dead relatives and prayed for the forgiveness of their souls. Waj-Nasihat, Milad Mahfil and special prayers are organized in the neighborhood mosques from evening onwards.

Many people engage in worship until late at night and fast the next day by eating sahri on the last night. On the occasion of this night, lighting, eating halwa roti, bursting firecrackers, celebrating with joy in groups has been asked by Alem Samaj.
