Extreme caution: Will cyclone Ashani affect Bangladesh?

Strong cyclone Ashani is gradually coming. At present a light pressure has formed in the South Andaman Sea and South-East Bay of Bengal. The low pressure can turn into low pressure today, Saturday night or tomorrow, Sunday morning.

The depression in the South Andaman Sea is moving towards the Orissa coast of India in the form of a cyclone. Meanwhile, the state administration of India has said that 36 rescue teams have been deployed in the coastal areas. Fishermen have also been banned from going to sea.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of Bangladesh held a meeting with the people concerned to deal with the cyclone last Thursday. Necessary number of shelters, volunteers and relief are being kept ready.

Abul Kalam Mallick, a senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Department, told the media: Its trajectory cannot be measured until it turns into a depression. However, it can become more concentrated and turn into depression on Saturday night or Sunday. So far, however, the direction of this light pressure has been towards Orissa, India. ‘

If the cyclone hits Orissa too, it will affect Bangladesh as well. Especially in coastal areas including Satkhira, its impact may be more. This can lead to stormy winds and moderate rainfall. And if the course of the cyclone changes slightly and tends towards West Bengal or Bangladesh, it could have a bigger impact.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Office said in a maritime warning yesterday that a light pressure had formed in the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. It can be more concentrated. Therefore, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to follow the next instructions.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6 pm yesterday said rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusts of wind and thunderstorms at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at a couple of places in Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Maybe. Nighttime temperatures may rise across the country and daytime temperatures may remain almost unchanged.

The weather forecast for the next five days says rain or thunderstorms are likely to increase. Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was 36.5 সেল C in Khulna and the lowest was 22.1 সেল C in Tentulia. The highest rainfall of 63 mm was recorded in Tarash of Rajshahi division yesterday.
