Bagerhat Correspondent: The Mongla Port Authority and the Mongla Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association have distributed food items among the C&F workers working at the Mongla seaport ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Eid items were distributed among 800 workers in front of Mongla Bandar Bhaban at 11:30 am on Thursday (April 26). The distribution of these food items has been organized with the funding of Bandar and Mongla Customs Carrying and Forwarding Agents Association.

Like every year, this year too, keeping in view the holy Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azhar, the port and its related organizations have been providing assistance to the workers working in the port. Therefore, in view of this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr, food aid has been provided to the C&F workers for the celebration of Eid.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, chairman of the Mongla Port Authority, handed over packets of rice, pulses, semai, sugar, flour, oil, salt and powdered milk to the workers.

Also present at the occasion were Md. Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Engineering and Development) of Mongla Port Authority, Md. Sultan Mahmud, President of Mongla Customs Carrying and Forwarding Agents Association, Heads of Ports Departments and Officers-Employees, other members of the Association and many more.

Md. Sultan Mahmud, president of the association, said that in all humanitarian disasters, the authorities are by the side of all the employees including C&F working in Mongla port. In view of the upcoming Eid, the port authorities, in collaboration with the Customs Carrying and Forwarding Agents Association of the port, have arranged for the food aid to be celebrated with the family. He also said that this trend will continue.
