Biman Bangladesh Airlines Authority has launched a direct flight from Chittagong with 419 pilgrims to Madina Manwara.
On Monday (May 22) at 3:50 PM Bangladesh Biman’s Akash Pradip left Chittagong for Madina Manwara. Chittagong city mayor and freedom fighter M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury inaugurated the flight at this time.
Officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines said that the number of pilgrims from Bangladesh this year is 1 lakh 22 thousand 211 people. Half of them 61 thousand 111 pilgrims will be taken from Bangladesh Biman and the other half from Saudia Airlines and Flynas Airlines authorities. Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate a total of 162 flights in Haji Paribahan.
Meanwhile, the number of pilgrims from Chittagong last year was five thousand. This time the number has more than doubled to 10 thousand 500 people.
Chittagong City Mayor said that all the Hajj pilgrims of Chittagong have got the opportunity to go for the holy Hajj from Chittagong by the Prime Minister’s wish. According to the expectations of Hajis, a direct Hajj flight will be launched from Chittagong to Makkah in the future.
