Chhatra League leaders and activists have been accused of stripping naked college student Shoaib Aziz Tanmoy in Satkhira and cutting his hair. A case has been filed against five members of Chhatra League in this incident.

The main accused in the case are Tala Sadar Union BCL general secretary Syed Akib and BCL leader Soumitra.

Tala police inspector Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the information and said the case was recorded on Monday morning. However, no arrests have been made so far.

According to local sources, Shoaib Aziz Tanmoy, a first year HSC student who has just passed SSC with GPA-5, was called by some of his acquaintances on his mobile phone on Sunday evening. He was later taken to a room in a government college hostel in Tala and stripped naked.

At that time, the hair of his head was cut off and 5 people including Syed Akib and Soumitra demanded Rs 2 lakh from him threatening to spread it on the internet. They kept it for a long time and started pressuring the family members through mobile phones about the extortion money. Upon receiving the news, Tanmoy’s relatives rescued him from the abductors.

Tanmoy’s father Sheikh Azizur Rahman has raised these allegations in his case and demanded justice for those involved. Fighting has started in Tala area over this incident. Those cadres of Chhatra League have already covered their bodies.

According to the police, it was initially known that the incident took place after a love affair with a girl.

Inspector of Police Abul Kalam Azad said a case has been registered in this regard. We are trying to catch the culprit.
