Dhaka CMM court grants bail to BNP leader Ishraq Hossain in sabotage case

The court rejected the bail plea of ​​BNP leader Ishraq Hossain, who was arrested on April 8 in a car vandalism case, and ordered him to be sent to jail. On the same day, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order.

Ishraq was arrested from Motijheel area while distributing leaflets in protest of rising commodity prices that day. Police then arrested Ishraq Hossain in a car vandalism case two years ago.

Incidentally, Ishraq was on bail in the 2020 case. However, an arrest warrant was issued against him on August 16, 2021 for not surrendering as per the order of the High Court.

Ishraq Hossain lost the last Dhaka South City Corporation election to Awami League candidate for mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh.
