In the context of long-standing friendship and cooperation between the United States, Bangladesh has supported Ajay Banga, the United States’ nominee for the post of World Bank Group president.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the support in a circular today.
According to the circular, Bangladesh believes that Ajay Banga’s experience will contribute positively to the future activities of the World Bank Group.
Mentioning that the World Bank plays an important role in the socio-economic development of many developing countries including Bangladesh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Bangladesh is interested in working closely with Ajay Banger as the future president of the World Bank Group in order to further the mutual cooperation with the World Bank as well as to increase the contribution of the World Bank globally.
