RAB has arrested 12 members of the broker’s gang by raiding the Lakshmipur regional passport office. Meanwhile, 80 thousand 20 taka, five passports, 18 passport delivery reports and eight national identity cards were recovered from them.

This Friday afternoon, RAB-11’s Noakhali camp company commander Lt. Commander Mahmudul Hasan confirmed the matter.

Earlier, RAB raided Lakshmipur Regional Passport Office area on Thursday afternoon. At that time they were arrested.

Those arrested are – Shakil Al Mahmud, Tapu Hossain, Md. Hossain, Md. Shahin, Md. Kamal, Zakir Hossain, Iqbal Hossain, Fazlul Karim, Zahid Islam, Belayet Hossain, Noman Siddique and Morshedul Alam.

According to RAB sources, the arrested are active members of passport broker gang of Lakshmipur district. They are extorting huge amount of money by promising to make passports to people. They have been doing this work by syndicate in the area around the passport office. People have to face various hurdles to get passport without their syndicate.

RAB-11 Noakhali Camp Company Commander Lt. Commander Mahmudul Hasan said that legal action against the detainees is in process. Our operation will continue to arrest the members of the Dalal Chakra.
